The history tells that the king James II, keeping in mind that Alcudia was near the coast and in order to protect it from possible invasions, decided to build a wall around the town. Through the pass of the years, this wall has undergone modifications as well as parts of it has been destroyed, but some other parts still remain nowadays and in 1974 it was declared a Site of Historical and Artistic Interest.
This, the wall of Alcudia, full of cobbled streets with emblematic stately homes, the church, the town hall, local shops which sell traditional products, small bakeries or restaurants where you can enjoy our typical dishes is what makes Alcudia so special.
