Have\u00a0any of you\u00a0heard or are familiar with\u00a0“Aucanada”\u00a0<\/strong>or as some prefer to refer “Alcanada”<\/strong> ?, if not, we are hear to inform you of this little appreciated\u00a0“haven” as the locals say.<\/p>\n

Aucanada as we shall refer<\/strong>,\u00a0 is a delightful appreciated residential area nestled by the sea,\u00a0just on the outskirts of\u00a0 the quaint small Port of Alcudia.\u00a0\u00a0It is \u00a0only a few mins drive and walkable\u00a0from the \u00a0port, \u00a0bypassing en-route\u00a0the distinctive landmark of the area, \u00a0two tall impressive\u00a0chimneys that can be viewed above Alcudia Bay, that were once a power station.<\/p>\n

The road takes you up and then winds down hugging the sea and coast\u00a0past\u00a0many beautiful homes and villas along the way that finally takes you to a recreation area at the bottom, there is also a restaurant which sits right on the waterfront known as La Terraza, ideal spot to take a coffee or wine, due to its with\u00a0stunning and beautiful views.\u00a0 There is a small tiny sand cove beach with stone jetty\u00a0just below the restaurant, where you can take a “dip”,\u00a0however, if you walk\u00a0a little further past the pine trees, you will be surprised at what this\u00a0pretty area offers along the coast,\u00a0which by the way\u00a0only becomes busier, at weekends both cars and people, as it is a “haven” appreciated by the locals both near and far who travel up to spend a delightful day at Aucanada, so mid week visit is recommended!<\/p>\n

The beach\u00a0offers\u00a0both sand \/pebble and pebble, \u00a0its waters are crystal clear, a super spot for snorkling or diving.\u00a0 There is also the small Aucanda Island, adding to the scenery,\u00a0so close its approx 150m which one can swim and has been known that some walk over to the Island, the Island has a beacon which comes to life during\u00a0 “sunset and dusk.”<\/p>\n

Leaving the beach and sea, Aucanada also is the home of an 18 hole golf course for those “avid”<\/strong> golfers out there, and offers a restaurant with spectacular views across the small Island and Alcudia Bay to take a lazy lunch, before returning back for an afternoon swim.<\/p>\n

So, for those of you who may be in the area, or planning to come this summer, dont forget to put Aucanada<\/strong> on your agenda, its a delightful spot, ideal as it is quiet compared to other beaches in the surrounding areas, \u00a0picturesque with stunning views, without the hustle and bustle of crowds,\u00a0” beware,<\/strong> you wont find the normal facilities of umbrellas available, but then\u00a0who cares, you cant have\u00a0quieter beach, clear waters and lovely views<\/strong>,\u00a0so compromise is the order of the day –\u00a0nothing is perfect in this life,\u00a0dont worry, there is always a solution\u00a0 – \u00a0“you can \u00a0always pop under the shade of a pine!!…..”<\/strong><\/p>\n
