The other day we spoke about the beautiful Tudor Dawn a schooner that one can enjoy on an arranged sail trip.
Today, for those of you who prefer to be a little more independent, wanting to do “your own thing” why not consider taking the daily shuttle boat that sails over from the Harbour in Puerto Pollensa to Formentor bay and beach.
SHUTTLE BOAT PUERTO POLLENSA TO FORMENTOR BEACH
You can purchase tickets for the boat at the Kiosk in Puerto Pollensa Marina, which is adjacent to the jetty area where the boat starts from, this is very near to the Restaurant STAY. The boat trip takes approximately 25 mins, taking in an enjoyable scenic trip en route bypassing La Fortaleza one of Spains most impressive Estates, its venue, housed high on the cliff edge along the way you you sail past lovely secluded coves before reaching the Formentor Beach.
First boat shuttle sets off approx 11am, 12pm, 1pm 3pm and 4pm. Boats return every 30mins the last boat back is 6pm. However, as always, we suggest you check with the Ticket Office, as times may vary slights, and in the summer they add more shuttle services.
As you sain into the bay of Formentor, you will see the famous Hotel Barcelo Formentor in the distance, where many celebs stayed to name a view, Peter Ustinov, Princess Grace of Monaco, John Wayne, Oanasis, and recently Brad Pitt amongst others.
The beach at Formentor is beautiful with very clear waters ideal for children, and snorkling. It is blessed with natural shade from the pine trees that overhang on stretches of beach.
There is a beach bar facility be WARNED! it is not cheap, being part of the Hotel establishment, so our tip is pack a picnic being the order of the day, only buy your drinks at the Bar!
It is a delightful trip over on the daily SHUTTLE BOAT OVER TO FORMENTOR, an ideal way to enjoy a boat ride over the bay, without it been on an arranged excursion trip you have the freedom to go and return at your leisure, just remember to catch the last boat back, or you may have an expensive nights stay at Hotel Formentor!!!!!
