Markets and craft stalls Mallorca

Dear All

It is that time of year for us ALL to  thoroughly enjoy the ambience of our local Markets here on the Island.

As summer is well on its way that means a different range of veggies and fruits  available for us all to indulge, many of which are grown in our local area, and available through our local markets.  Market size differs in towns.  Smaller markets tend to specialize on local produce for example our local Pollensa Market on Sunday there are lots of local veggies and fruits to choose from grown in its nearby neighbouring farming town of Sa Poabla, how lucky are we!!

Markets are an excellent way to join in with the locals during your stay catching the atmosphere of the Sunday or Mid-week market scene, not be be missed!!!

In our local area Sunday Pollensa market, the crème of the crème, offers a variety of  market stalls, including food produce, and crafts stalls with many items of scarfs, jewellery and more it’s the in place” to meet up with friends, make new friends, and just absorbs the electric atmosphere.

The walled old town of Alcudia also has its market Sundays, and Tuesdays,  offering abundance of stalls to ramble and browse around.

Puerto Pollensa offers its market on the venue just back of the seafront in the main square on a Wednesday.

Basically,  locals and tourists alike are lucky as between Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday, just 10 mins drive from each resort Pollensa, Puerto Pollensa and Alcudia offer markets on these days.

Further afield is the delightful Sineu market normally held Wednesday mornings a traditional Mallorcan inland  town that offers produce stalls, even livestock where local farm animals are brought along to be sold, there may be a donkey, a hen, cockerel, not forgetting pet rabbits.

Inca market on Thursdays approx only 15 mins drive from Pollensa,  is famous for its leather stalls as well as shops, it’s the “leather” town in Mallorca, offers varied range of stalls from veggies, clothing and other.

If your planning to have excursions around the Island, its worthwhile checking with your local tourist office the days of other markets around the Island that you may also wish to explore.

We wish you happy market exploring and browsing during your stay, become a local and enjoy our market social scene both locally and further afield, no better way,  than meet the locals and make new friends along the way, whether its a friendly  “lick from a Donkey, spoil yourselves completely over-dozing on delicious locally grown strawberries, or treat yourself to a new pair of  hand made leather shoes, a hand woven scarf or trinket.

Wishing you a nice day
